In this six week course you will learn basic meditation skills and Buddhist techniques to use in daily life. Grounded in Buddhist techniques this course has been developed for all who wish to explore meditation and the positive effects it can bring. No experience needed, everyone is welcome.

 

Angela has studied Buddhism for 8 years and has previously taught meditation classes in the North Island. She is a veterinarian and has taught vetinary students in the USA, New Zealand, Australia and India. Her interests are helping others and animals as much as she can. Students enjoy her warm and clear teaching style.

Kathy Valler has been teaching yoga for 18 years. She is Hatha and Kundalini Yoga trained. Kathy has returned from India full of energy and inspiration to guide you through a meaningful series of powerful yoga classes. The workshops are based on theme of coming into the centre, activating the Manipuri chakra, the fire element of transformation.

Have you ever wanted to learn to felt wool? Or, admired the beautiful scarves, bags and clothes made by felting? In this weekend course you will learn a range of basic techniques, with a focus on making and completing your own projects.

Topics covered include:

The history of felting. Learn about sheep and alpaca wool types and behaviours and the techniques to make placments, bags and pouches and scarves.  Chose to make a place mat, felted flowers, gorgeous scarf, small purse, bag or pouch and then focus on completing the project with Regina's creative help and supervision on the Sunday afternoon.

Regina has been felting for more than 20 years and regularly runs workshops in Motueka and Orinoco. She is a member of Chandrakirti Centre.

Registration is essential.

Cost: $100 including a delicious vegetarian lunch on Sunday. $80 for Chandrakirti Members. A small additional cost for your choice of wools to work with. All other tools and equipment provided.

Lozang grew up in a Buddhist family in New Zealand and is a student of Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s. He was ordained as a monk for 10 years. During that time he studied at Chenrezig Institute in Australia and spent a number of years in different meditation retreats. Lozang has a relaxed and open way of guiding meditation and discussion.
