Maitreya Buddha Relic Tour
You are invited to view a precious collection of sacred relics of the Buddha and many other Buddhist masters that is touring the world and will be in Nelson New Zealand for this precious weekend.

These relics embody the master’s spiritual qualities of compassion and wisdom and have been deliberately produced by the master at the time of death so that all may share in their blessing. Until this tour, most of these relics have been kept in sacred shrines and statues all around the world. His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who kept Shakyamuni Buddha’s relics, donated some of them for this tour.

The Relic tour is an event promoting world peace and inter-religious harmony. Visitors of every faith often report inspirational experiences when in the presence of the relics. While some are inspired to pray for world peace and to develop their inner wisdom, others are overcome by emotion as the powerful effects of the relics open their hearts to compassion and loving-kindness.
Details of the tour will be posted as they are available.

Please visit www.maitreyaproject.org for further information on the Maitreya Project.

Membership

A note to remind you that memberships are due again and we welcome new members. You can become a member on line at www.chandrakirti.co.nz or post $100 to P O Box 3319, Richmond, Nelson. (Remember you will receive 1/3rd of all your donations back as a tax rebate directly to your bank at the end of the tax year.) It is only through your kind support, membership and donations that Chandrakirti Centre can continue to benefit the community with the positive energy of the Buddhas wisdom and teachings.

Tara Statue Project

We are awaiting the arrival of 4 more Tara statues from Nepal this month bringing the total to 15 out of 21. So the project is almost complete. However we still need another 7 Tara sponsors or benefactors with the cost of each statue being $7000NZ. Many folks have donated what they can to the project becoming a Friend of Tara and we encourage you to do the same as you receive all the benefits of the whole project by being even a small part of it. Why gather 21 big Tara statues?

This project is aimed at several lifetimes, we are creating profound opportunities for future generations to meet with the Buddhist teachings and create merit. These statues will remain for many decades and perhaps centuries and act as a magnet for the spiritual energy of Tara. It is only due to the presence of Holy Objects that we can further the teachings of Buddha, and create the opportunity for people to create merit and understand the deeper wisdom of Buddha’s profound understanding of reality.
We encourage you to be part of the Tara project in whatever way possible as this helps overcome negative karma and its propensities as well sows seeds for your future enlightenment.

You can view Tara project on line at www.chandrakirti.co.nz or better yet come and see them in Nalanda Hall. Ven Lhagon Rinpoche from the Dhargyey Buddhist Centre in Dunedin will come and fill and consecrate the Taras this winter.

Warmest Wishes from us all at Chandrakirti Centre
